Stephen Christensen
Co-Founder
Stephen Christensen is Co-Founder of SPF Shrimp Feeds. His aquaculture experience ranges from the sourcing of hard-to-find live and fresh diets, to the distribution of a wide range of shrimp aquaculture feeds. In 2017, he founded the Aqua West Artemia Nauplii center in Vietnam, which produces and delivers daily, live artemia nauplii. Together with Florian, they developed the first in-country storage and daily delivery of Live SPF Polychaetes imported from Europe, which served as the inception of SPF Shrimp Feeds in 2019. A trained political scientist by education, he pivoted to aquaculture in 2013. He holds degrees from the University of Southern California and New York University.
Florian Renault
Florian Renault is Co-Founder of SPF Shrimp Feeds. Following the completion of a Master’s Degree in Montpellier, France in 2011, he joined Neovia in Vietnam (later acquired by ADM). There, he served as Business Manager for all export of aquaculture feeds for South East Asia. In that capacity, Florian managed both the export of product from Vietnam and the in-country technical sales teams of all regional countries, plus India. His expertise addresses feed application and protocol, and technical hatchery and farm management applies for all stages of shrimp as well as marine fish.
In 2017, he joined Aqua West Artemia Nauplii Center as Commercial Director, responsible for driving the sales in Vietnam and company growth to other aquaculture producing countries.
Co-Founder
In 2019, Florian and Stephen had the crazy idea of flying live worms from The Netherlands to Vietnam to address the need for SPF live feed for shrimps. About the success of this idea, Florian says “this is a chance to build the future of a new era in the live SPF feeds sector in Asia and Latin America. Where most of the corporate companies lead the Aquaculture business sector, it is exciting to create the demand for a product that no one is proposing.”
When they aren’t working, Stephen and Florian enjoy running ultra marathons, exploring by motorcycle, and competing for the highest airline frequent flyer status.
